I decided to sign up for the FII level 2 class with Drift Freediving and Oliver Haroun after taking his level 1 course earlier in the summer. I really appreciated the fact that the level 1 course was required even though I could already dive to the max depth and time for the course because the class was focused on riding me of my bad habits and getting me into efficient and safer techniques. After fully integrating the level 1 techniques into my spearfishing routine I thought it was time to step up my game again. FII’s level 2 provides an excellent source of information for becoming a proficient and mindful freediver. Oliver’s guidance and feedback ensured that we were performing every technique, from stretches to recovery breaths, perfectly. We learned to understand all of our body’s signs and reviewed them after each dive for safety and to set new goals. Oliver followed every student down to provide them feedback on their dive but to also challenge the divers to recognize their own mistakes. This allowed us to develop great technique very quickly and solidify it as habit. The class took me from a previous max of 85’ to 117’ and provided me with the knowledge and skills to continue to progress. The knowledge I gained in just 3 days will provide the foundation for a lifetime of better and safer diver. If you’re serious about freediving or spearfishing, take FII’s level 2 with Drift Freediving and you’ll be a better diver for it!

Few years back, thanks to Dean I discovered, and later on perfected, a real passion for scuba diving. Naturally, I decided to follow his lead and experience something new with Freediving. As usual his teaching was excellent. His knowledge, dedication, attention to details and safety made me (once again) want to do and see more! Level 2... here I come

The instruction and care provided by Fii has been fantastic. The level of instruction has brought me a sense of comfort in the water that I never felt after 21 years of scuba diving. The network of instructors and divers has been a fantastic blessing. I recently moved and was concerned that I would have to put freediving on the shelf, one trip the the Fii website changed that. A local instructor pointed me to a group of certified freedivers and areas do dive that I did not know existed. Not only has Fii taught me how to freedive safely, it has helped me to keep freediving.
